PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance is a set of standards set in place by the major card brands. These standards apply to any business that processes, stores, or transmits credit card information. They were originally adopted in 2006 and require businesses to complete an annual compliance questionnaire about the way credit card information is handled in their office.

The online questionnaire is available by visiting www.controlscan.com and clicking on Portal Login. You can access the questions by entering your Merchant ID number and password. Your answers are stored in our system to make staying compliant as easy as possible, and you’ll receive a compliance certificate upon completion.
The questionnaire asks how you handle credit card information in your office and verifies that you are not storing credit card numbers electronically. It takes 10–15 minutes to complete and is a great business exercise to walk through to ensure everyone in your office knows the best ways to protect your clients.
